My story
Founding designer, Dana Betterly, grew up fascinated with plants, being outdoors, and caring for the environment. In 2011, she earned her BA in Environmental Studies at San Francisco State University with a concentration in the Urban Environment. Since, she has continued her education by earning a certificate in Permaculture Design Principles with the Urban Permaculture Institute and taking classes in 2016 at City College. Prior to founding Rambunctious Gardens, she gained expertise as a gardner with various urban sustainable food production projects including Graze the Roof and The Cecil Williams Care House, while also working for an edible landscaping company in San Francisco, CA.
PHILOSOPHY
Betterly Garden Design's focus is to create lush, vibrant spaces where people can relax and unwind. We are passionate about turning outdoor spaces into a natural retreat and a place you will always want to be by transforming your underutilized space into a place where you can connect with nature, unwind and feel rejuvenated.

-
Restoring The Environment: Our main focus is to help restore the environment with native plants.

-
Water Wise Gardens: Designing gardens that require little supplemental water is a primary focus at Betterly Garden Design. By using drip irrigation systems and choosing the right plant for the right place we are able to help conserve water.

Low Maintenance Gardens: Our informal garden designs require little maintenance. Seasonal garden visits allow for the garden to take on a wildly maintained look that mimics nature by encouraging flowers to reseed and plants to live out their full life cycle. We encourage our clients to form a relationship with their gardens and if desired teaching clients how to care for and grow with their ever changing landscape
